Good to see you back. I welcome your return by disagreeing wiht you. Such persistance is superficial when it's not accompanied by a deep reflection on the meaning of democracy. It's a form of hypocrisy when these people in H.K. cannot at the same time think of extending "human rights" or "democratic rights" to their Thai or Fillipana maids. So they go to the Victoria Park to commerorate June 4, after that they go home and slap their maids or insult their South Asians neighbors. That's H.K. democracy for you.
It is a very complicated matter to live with some total stranger in a small flat.
I wonder if all those who have south Asian maids will treat them as bad as slave.
For we all know that if you treat them so badly, they will have their own ways to fight back - which is something that you would not want to know about. Then would you say that the maid holders' rights are also being systematically violated?

北京奧運開幕禮是十二億人的愛國主義自瀆，十五萬香港人紀念六四則是偽民主精神自瀆。熊焱是美軍隨軍牧師。死於美軍炮火的伊拉克平民最少數以萬計。一個認真追求民主的人會選擇這種職業嗎？一個有認真反思什麼是民主的組織會邀請這樣的人來紀念「民主」嗎？這二十年來維持香港人紀念六四的動力並不是對民主的追求而是對中共的憎恨。若這些人是真正的關心民主大可從香港做起。民主並不只是一種一人一票的制度。民主最基本的意思是每個人皆擁有獨立自主地決定自己命運的權利。當新移民，南亞人及外傭處處受到岐視及排斥，找不至到學校，找不到工作，他們還怎能主牢自已的將來？當同性戀者不能擁有成立家庭的權利，他們又怎能操控自已的命運？

回覆刪除1. 要為二次入侵伊拉克負責的人是不是美國的軍人? 還是有關的政策決定者?
2. 做隨軍牧師與做儈子手是否不同? 就算是當軍人是否就不配支持民主?
3. 香港人自己的心態對某種族的人有歧視成份, 這並不對. 但是否表示香港人因而也不配堅持中國的民主改革, 或者不配譴責六四屠城?
4. 香港人憎恨中共? 誰是中共? 人民幣中移動乃至新上任的港交所主席是不是中共? 我都唔知. 談不上憎恨. 對自由行的人, 香港人也其實是有點歧視而已. 但這種心態不見得可推動人上街.
5. 「偽民主精神自瀆」是一個幾好的term, 遲的要借來用.
6. 「有什麼樣的人民則有什麼樣的統治者」對香港人有點不公平. 我們都沒有普選.
